What is Loss of Hair?

Loss of Hair is a common compliant in these modern times, mostly due to faulty and stressful lifestyles. It is normal to lose about 50 to 100 strands of hair per day as a part of the normal renewal process. But, if the Loss of hair is significantly more than this amount then it is considered as a problem.

It has been observed that males tend to lose hair at a faster rate as compared to their female counterparts. The pattern of hair loss is also different for both the sexes.

For instance, Loss of Hair in females is generally characterized by even and overall thinning of hair whereas in case of men it is characterized by a receding hairline and bald patches, especially at the crown of the head. Considerable Loss of Hair from some or all areas of the body is known as Alopecia Areata.

This embarrassing problem can be treated with the help of a number of natural home remedies for Loss of Hair. Unlike the conventional treatments, whether surgical or non surgical, the home treatments consisting of easy natural remedies are much safer and do not have any side effects. Regular application of these natural cures can help stimulate the growth of hair.

Causes and Symptoms of Loss of Hair

Aging is one of the most common and unavoidable causes of Loss of Hair. Hormonal imbalances due to thyroid disorders, pregnancy, menopause and other such conditions have also been associated with increased Loss of Hair. Certain medications like the ones used for high blood pressure, heart problems depression, vitamin A supplements, birth control etc increase the risk of developing this ailment.

Deficiency of iron and protein in the diet may also result in the same. Other factors include Ringworm on the scalp, genetic predisposition to Hair Loss or Baldness, immune system disorders, radiation therapy, physical stress, high fever, severe infection, sebum buildup, faulty hair care practices (like constant hair pulling due tightly braided hairstyles), use of hair cosmetics and hair dryers etc.

Loss of Hair due to aging generally starts from the late twenties or early thirties. It is characterized by symptoms like thinning and shedding of hair. Moreover, clumps of hair tend to fall out frequently few months after periods of prolonged stress and hormonal imbalances. Sometimes, the Loss of Hair is permanent in nature and sometimes it is temporary.

Natural Home Remedies for Loss of Hair

• Indian Gooseberry is one of the most highly recommended natural home remedies for Loss of Hair. For this, take one tablespoon of powdered Indian Gooseberry, lemon juice and some water just enough to form a paste. Use this paste as a natural hair cleanser for about two to three weeks to cure Loss of Hair.

• Prepare a paste by mixing one teaspoon of cinnamon powder, some warm olive oil and honey. Apply this paste on the scalp for about 15 minutes and then wash it off.

• Castor oil, almond oil, coconut oil, olive oil, coriander juice and aloe vera gel are excellent Loss of Hair home remedies. Out of these, coconut oil can also be used in combination with dry Indian Gooseberry by adding pieces of dry Indian gooseberry in coconut oil and boiling it.

These natural remedies should be applied for at least half an hour and then finally washed off in order to reduce Loss of Hair by stimulating hair growth.

• Coconut milk prepared by squeezing the coconut shavings is also regarded as a valuable natural treatment for Loss of hair. This home remedy should be applied on the scalp followed by a scalp massage to heal this ailment and improve hair growth.

• Boil a mixture of 250 ml mustard oil and 60 grams of henna leaves. Strain and use this therapeutic oil on a regular basis to massage the scalp to get rid of this problem by healing it in a natural way.

• Spinach juice, carrot juice, lettuce juice and alfalfa juice are highly beneficial natural home remedies for Loss of Hair. A combination of carrot, lettuce and alfalfa juice should be taken regularly to reduce this problem.

Similarly, another simple home remdy is to drink about half a liter of a mixture of lettuce and spinach juice on a regular basis to prevent and control Hair Loss.

• Regular application of a paste prepared from pigeon pea is one of the most successful natural home remedies for Loss of Hair. Onion can also be rubbed on the bald patches followed by honey.

• Take equal quantities of lime seeds and black pepper. Grind these ingredients and make a paste of this mixture by adding sufficient water in it. Apply this paste on the scalp for about 15 minutes and then rinse the hair two times per day for a few weeks control Loss of Hair.

• Prepare a paste by mixing and grinding liquorice pieces and a pinch of saffron in some milk. Before going to bed, apply this paste on the bald patches and then rinse the hair in the morning to induce growth of hair at such spots.

• A mixture of rosemary oil, olive oil, lemon juice and one egg yolk can also be applied on the roots of hair and then washed off as a good Loss of Hair home remedy.

Diet for Loss of Hair

A healthy diet loaded with adequate amount of essential vitamins and minerals is highly beneficial in the treatment of Loss of Hair. Fresh fruits, seeds, nuts and vegetables like lentils, oats, green peas, brown rice, walnuts, sunflower seeds etc should form an integral part of a well balanced diet to control Hair Loss.

Besides, regular meditation helps in reducing the level of stress thereby reducing Loss of Hair. Apart from this, comb or style the hair only when they are dry or damp because wet hair strands tend to break easily.
